Today I want to share with you an amazing adventure I recently had here in Austria: a trip to the beautiful Grüner See, starting from Graz. As a Brazilian blogger living in Graz, I’m always looking for new places to explore and share with you. And I really loved the experience of swing this place for the first time 😍
Getting There: By Car or Bus
To get to Grüner See from Graz, you can choose to drive or take a bus. We decided to drive because it’s more flexible and lets us enjoy the scenery along the way. The drive takes about an hour, and it’s a peaceful journey through Austria’s scenic roads. By public transport you can check a short video tutorial here.
Parking and Facilities

When you arrive, there’s parking available for 6 euros, payable in coins. You can check the parking we went on Google Maps here.
Grüner See is known for its clear, emerald waters and has facilities like restaurants where you can enjoy Austrian cuisine and public restrooms for your comfort.
Best Time to Visit and Current Conditions
The best time to visit Grüner See is in spring or summer. We went yesterday, in early May, and the lake was stunning with a depth of 6 meters. It’s the perfect time to see its beauty.
Additional Tips and Reminders
Remember to respect nature and follow the rules when you visit. Don’t leave any trash behind and avoid disturbing the wildlife. Also, be prepared for the weather, especially if you’re planning outdoor activities. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and water to stay hydrated.
Exploring the Area

Besides Grüner See, there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the area. You can hike along nearby trails and discover amazing viewpoints. Don’t forget your camera to capture the beautiful landscapes.
A visit to Grüner See is a must for anyone in Graz or Austria. I hope these tips help you plan your own adventure to this stunning destination.
Until next time!
