There’s something incredibly comforting about brunch — and for us, it’s more than just a meal. In Brazil, breakfast was often the heart of our weekends. On special days, we’d wake up to a table full of delicious surprises. And now, in our little Austro-Brazilian home here in Graz, we’ve kept that tradition alive.
Whether you’re new in town, just visiting, or simply looking for a weekend treat, here’s a list of our favorite brunch spots in Graz — tested, loved, and shared with warmth. If we missed your favorite, let us know!
🥐 1. Martin Auer
This one is my all-time favorite. Their pistachio croissant is reason enough to visit — flaky, creamy, and unforgettable. The ambiance is relaxed, and it’s perfect for a slow morning.

🥯 2. Sorger
Especially the locations that serve bagels — one of the best I’ve ever had! Soft, flavorful, and served with generous toppings. It’s an ideal place for a quick yet satisfying brunch.

🍳 3. Granola
We love this place for both its coffee and presentation. The dishes are beautifully served, the ingredients fresh, and the taste consistently great. It’s a small café with a big personality.
📍 Bahnhofgürtel 89, 8010 Graz or Shopping City Seiersberg
💚💛4. Mahler’s Café
A new Brazilian café in Graz that stole my heart. Think Brazilian comfort food, amazing coffee, and even a Brazilian beer if you’re feeling festive. Try the pão de queijo and thank me later!
📍 Schönaugasse 21, 8010 Graz
🎼 5. Operncafé
This historic café is as beautiful on the inside as it is welcoming. It offers a lovely brunch menu, and the atmosphere is perfect for a weekend catch-up or a cozy solo moment.
📍 Opernring 22, 8010 Graz
🧁 6. Café Schwalbennest
I haven’t had the coffee here yet, but I can definitely recommend the homemade desserts. The space is super cute, with a view of the city center from the counter — a great stop for a quiet break.
📍 Franziskanerpl. 1, 8010 Graz
